There are two elements to consider after a fire. The damage caused by the fire and the damage caused by putting out the fire.
Please get permission from the fire chief before entering the building. The property may not be safe.
It may also be necessary to speak to your insurance company as well. The fire department may need to discover the cause of the fire and they won't want you disturbing the scene.
Even after you have permission to reenter the fire scene, it is a good idea to get professionals in to clean your property.
Cleaning up is physically hard work and very distressing. You need spcialist equipment, with trained staff.
You also have the problems of deodourising furniture, carpets, curtains and soft furnishings.
